Amazon Best Sellers change fast. Every week, Amazon publishes a live, constantly-updating Best Sellers list for every category, including Home Storage & Organization. This installment covers what was ranking during the week of September 28, 2026. We are checking whether the top sellers are actually your best deal, or whether the same (or equivalent) item is cheaper somewhere else.
A note on how this list works: Amazon’s rankings change constantly, and pricing is also live, sometimes within the same week. Everything below reflects what was ranking and what we found as of this week, click through before you buy to confirm current pricing.
#2: Amazon Basics Slim Velvet Non-Slip Suit Clothes Hangers, Black, 50-Pack
- Amazon price (confirmed): $20.69, rated 4.8 out of 5 stars across 236,973 ratings. This week the version ranking at number 2 is the black 50-pack rather than the 30-pack we tracked last week ($16.79), so the prices are not directly comparable, but it works out to about 41 cents per hanger versus 56 cents for the 30-pack.
- Walmart price (closest match we found): $26.19, listed as Basics Slim, Velvet, Non-Slip Suit Clothes Hangers, Pack of 50, Black, the same near-identical naming pattern we have seen on this item before. The cheapest well-reviewed similar item we found was Ollieroo Premium Velvet Hangers, 50 Pack, Black, at $17.92 with 4.7 stars across 403 reviews.
- Verdict: Amazon is $5.50 cheaper than the closest-named Walmart listing, though we still cannot confirm that listing is the same manufacturer. If the brand does not matter to you, the Ollieroo 50-pack at Walmart is about $2.77 less than the Amazon price (and $8.27 less than the Walmart Basics listing), but it is a different brand, so hook finish and hanger thickness may not be the same.
#5: Utopia Home Plastic Hangers, 50-Pack, White
- Amazon price (confirmed): $21.99, rated 4.7 out of 5 stars across 48,832 ratings, new to our list this week at number 5.
- Walmart price (confirmed, identical product): $21.99, same Utopia Home brand and the same listing title, sold and shipped by Utopia Brands Inc. itself. Walmart shows it marked down from $24.99.
- Verdict: A tie. The price is identical on both sites, so the deciding factor is shipping speed or which account you already use. Walmart was quoting free shipping with arrival on Thursday, October 1. One caveat: Amazon lists this price as a limited-time deal (typical price $24.49), so check both sites before you buy.
#6: Kitsure Shoe Rack (Non-Woven, 27.5in Wide, 3-Tier)
- Amazon price (confirmed): $9.99, rated 4.3 out of 5 stars across 17,237 ratings, unchanged again this week, though it slipped from number 3 in our last post to number 6.
- Walmart price (similar listing, not confirmed identical): $20.24, listed as Stackable Black 3 Tier 27.5″ Wide Non-Woven Shoe Rack Shelf Kitsure Shoe Rack, sold and shipped by a third-party seller with no ratings yet. The $19.50 listing we reported last week is no longer available. Kitsure’s own Walmart listings are for different 3-tier models, starting at $11.99.
- Verdict: Amazon wins decisively. At $9.99 versus $20.24, Amazon is less than half the price, and you are buying from the brand’s own store rather than a third-party reseller.
Open Questions
- Whether the Walmart “Basics” hanger listing is truly the same manufacturer as the Amazon Basics version, or just a similarly-named private-label alternative, still unresolved after three checks.
- Whether the Utopia Home listing on Walmart is the exact same model as the Amazon one. The brand, title, and seller all line up, but we did not compare model numbers.
- Why the Kitsure shoe rack keeps showing up on Walmart only through third-party resellers, at roughly twice the Amazon price.
- The Cozy Essential vacuum storage bags we covered last week are still in the top eight at number 8, but the Amazon price rose from $19.98 to $22.45, worth watching next week.
- Whether to revisit the drinkware items (Owala, Stanley) that held three of the top eight spots again this week, possibly as a separate roundup post.
How We Check These Amazon Best Sellers
Each week we pull Amazon’s live Best Sellers list for a category relevant to renters and small-space living, note the top items and their current prices, then search for the same or closest matching product on Walmart. We label a match as identical only when the brand and model line up exactly, the way the Utopia Home hangers did this week. When we can only find a similar item from a different brand, we say so, because a lookalike product is not the same guarantee of quality or fit.
