Amazon Best Sellers change fast. Every week, Amazon publishes a live, constantly-updating Best Sellers list for every category, including Home Storage & Organization. This installment covers what was ranking during the week of October 19, 2026. We are checking whether the top sellers are actually your best deal, or whether the same (or equivalent) item is cheaper somewhere else.
A note on how this list works: Amazon’s rankings change constantly, and pricing is also live, sometimes within the same week. Everything below reflects what was ranking and what we found as of this week, click through before you buy to confirm current pricing.
#1: Amazon Basics Slim Velvet Non-Slip Suit Clothes Hangers, Black, 50-Pack
- Amazon price (confirmed): $18.89, down from $20.69 last week, and the black 50-pack has climbed from number 2 to the number 1 spot with a 4.8-star rating across more than 237,000 reviews.
- Walmart price (closest match we found): $26.19, listed as Basics Slim, Velvet, Non-Slip Suit Clothes Hangers, Pack of 50, Black. A second Walmart listing uses the exact Amazon title, Slim Velvet Non-Slip Space Saving Suit Clothes Hangers, Closet Organizer, Black, 50-Pack, but costs even more at $34.98.
- Verdict: Amazon wins against both lookalike listings, by about $7 to $16, and its price drop has narrowed the gap to the cheaper different-brand options. The Ollieroo 50-pack we flagged last week is still $17.92 at Walmart, and Utopia Home’s velvet 50-pack is $17.99, both now less than a dollar under Amazon. Those are similar items, not the same product, so they are only worth a look if brand does not matter to you.
#5: Kitsure Shoe Rack (Non-Woven, 27.5in Wide, 3-Tier, Black)
- Amazon price (confirmed): $9.97, down two cents from $9.99 last week and back to the price we first saw in mid-September, now up one spot from number 6 to number 5 with a 4.3-star rating across about 17,800 reviews.
- Walmart price (same product, third-party sellers): starting at $19.50, listed as Kitsure Shoe Rack, 3-Tier Non-Woven Fabric Shoe Organizer, 27.5 Inches Wide, Black. This is the same listing we reported at $19.50 two weeks ago and found unavailable last week, and it is back through marketplace sellers only. The third-party Kitsure-titled black 27.5in listing we found last week is still $20.24.
- Verdict: Amazon wins decisively, at roughly half the Walmart price for the same Kitsure rack. Walmart does carry a different Kitsure 3-tier rack (27.2in wide) for $11.79, but that is a different model, so it is a similar item rather than a match.
#7: Cozy Essential Vacuum Storage Bags with Hand Pump, 20 Combo
- Amazon price (confirmed): $17.08, down almost $3 from the $19.98 we saw when we last checked it in our September 21 post, back on our list this week at number 7 with a 4.3-star rating across more than 81,000 reviews.
- Walmart price (closest match we found): $43.38 plus $5.00 shipping, from a marketplace seller using the identical product title. The listing is marked “Unbranded” rather than Cozy Essential, so we cannot confirm it is the same product this week. The cheapest similar 20-bag set with a hand pump we found was $26.95.
- Verdict: Amazon wins clearly. Even the similar, different-brand 20-pack at Walmart costs about $10 more, and the same-title listing is more than double Amazon’s price once shipping is added.
Open Questions
- Whether the Walmart hanger listings are truly the same manufacturer as the Amazon Basics version, or just similarly-named private-label alternatives, still unresolved after three checks.
- Why the vacuum storage bag listing on Walmart now shows as “Unbranded” from a marketplace seller at more than double the price, and whether Walmart will carry the Cozy Essential brand listing again.
- Whether to revisit the drinkware items (Owala, Stanley) that hold three of the top eight spots this week, possibly as a separate roundup post.
How We Check These Amazon Best Sellers
Each week we pull Amazon’s live Best Sellers list for a category relevant to renters and small-space living, note the top items and their current prices, then search for the same or closest matching product on Walmart. We label a match as identical only when the brand and model line up exactly, the way the Kitsure shoe rack did this week. When we can only find a similar item from a different brand, or a listing that copies the title but not the brand, we say so, because a lookalike product is not the same guarantee of quality or fit.
